Blue is the Warmest Colour, an intimate love story about two young French women, has won the Palme d'Or for best film at the Cannes Film Festival.
It has attracted attention for its explicit sex scenes as well as the acclaimed performances of actresses Adele Exarchopoulos and Lea Seydoux.

And French star Berenice Bejo, known for silent film The Artist, won best actress for her role in The Past.

The winners were picked from the 20 films in competition and were named at the festival's closing ceremony on Sunday.
Blue is the Warmest Colour is a three-hour coming-of-age movie in which Exarchopoulos plays a 15-year-old who falls in love with an older woman, played by Seydoux.

Bejo WINS!

Berenice Bejo shot to fame in Oscar-winning silent film The Artist [where her winning performance of the indominable Peppy Miller was snubbed by the Academy in favor of yet ANOTHER representation of a woman of color as a maid in the movie: The Help].

Oscar Isaac earned acclaim for his role in the Inside Llewyn Davis
Accepting the prize, Abdellatif Kechiche said: "I should like to dedicate this film to the wonderful youth of France whom I met during the long period while making this film.

"Those young people taught me a lot about the spirit of freedom and living together."

Love Me Some Swiss Women

 http://fashionbombdaily.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/kat-graham.jpg
Look sure it been years since I last saw Catherine from Stockholm (Sweden), but that doesn't mean that Catherine doesn't remmain the most memorable woman I've ever met.  The "New" Nordic Woman is fascinating for example: Kat Graham is Nigerian/Brasilian/ Jewish and Polish. Kat Graham was born in Geneva Switzerland and so that counts in my book.
I like to hightlight when I see talented and diverse people from Europe.

Kat Graham was born in Geneva Switzerland.
An actress and Singe Kat Graham can be seen on the WB's: Vampire Diaries:

Fitch Please

In case you missed the scandal, the delusional and heavily Botoxed CEO of Abercrombie and Fitch: Mike Jeffries insulted the majority of Americans recently when he said:

"In every school there are the cool and popular kids, and then there are the not-so-cool kids. Candidly, we go after the cool kids."

It's clear by the his current appearance that Mr. Jeffries wasn't in the cool kids group so he tried to alter his appearnce.
I Guess Mr. Jeffries is striving to acheive this look:
Above is "Cat Woman" New York socialite Jocelyn Wildenstein  known for extensive facial surgeries.

Seriously WTF and this guy has the audacity to  slander individuals who don't measure up to his deluded standards. People have actually been askd to leave the store if they are: Older, Plus Size [that leaves out 80% of americans). This is NOT a cool look.

Now, after an online petition that garnered a whopping 68,000 signatures, the company has issued a public statement denouncing Jeffries' insensitive comments.

"We sincerely regret and apologize for any offense caused by the comments we have made in the past which are contrary to (the values of diversity and inclusion)," the statement read in part.

A spokesperson for the company told the Daily News they are offering no further comment at this time and would neither confirm nor deny that the popular teen clothing brand would start selling its jeans, polos, and oxfords in XL and XXL sizes.

This guy is so out of touch he doesn't even realize that teens love to wear oversized clothes.

Be Amused...Be Very Amused

I'm interested to see if the US version manages to maintain the depth and intensity of the excellent UK version. Oh wait what am I thinking, I already know that it won't. American television leave a lot to be desired. Oh sure it does create great original series like "Smash," and The Playboy Club only to cancel or replace them wih really crappy shows like :

"Ready For Love" [which is promptly cancelled] or "Bet On Your Baby."

Granted I only became interested in the UK Mistresses after Shelly Cohn's character Jessica Fraser had an affair with a woman (Anna Torv's charater Alex) that she is planning a lesbioan wedding for. Now considering that this was the very first episode of the very first season of Mistresses in the U.K. it's safe to assume that when I say I became interested only after the lesbian affair, I was hooked from from the start!

Will the U.S. version of this series measure up? Who knows, American audiences appear to be very impatient, confused and lacking cultural sophistication for the most part. Although I am curious as to which character will be having the lesbian affair. I dunno, but I doubt it will be the African American woman. There's still too much Homophobia in the black community.

Back In The Saddle

Wow it takes awhile to recover from injury.http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-W1UGKs3M0H4/UX3ksRmJW6I/AAAAAAAAGI0/kAm7uO-NSeA/s1600/cowboy_1024.jpg But after two medical visits my doctor’s have deemed me capable of returning to writing. Not only had I incurred a severe head injury, but I had also sprained my wrist pretty badly making typing or even handwriting nearly impossible [except for minor blog adjustments].

A lot happened while I was recuperating the least of which is the freedom acheived by the three women who were held captive by Ariel Castro for 10 years.

Marriage Equality is ratified in Minnesota and Delaware.

Moving onto to popular culture: Like many I am also awaiting the new suspense movie Passion and yes I know that many bisexuals are excited because they beliebve that the movie will be a murder mystery stemming from an ill conceived bisexual romance. I watched Love Crime the movie of which Passion is the American remake, if anything Love Crime was hardly a bisexual romance gone awry and more of a sado/masochistic experiment in corporate espionage cum fatal heterosexual setup.

Then again it is an American movie and goodness knows that American Directors love to pander to purient interests regardless of dramatic relevance.

Since I no longer have cable, I was hopingCallie Torres

that my digital antenna would’nt fail and I'd be able to watch the Grey’s Anatomy Season finale and things were just fine until Callie discovered Arizona's scrub on Hot Visiting Doc Lauren.

Look Shonda if you want to throw Callie back to penis loving you don’t do it like this. It’s rather transparent that Callie will not look for nor find another woman should she and Arizona BREAK UP. What might have been vindication against negative perceptions of bisexuals has given sway to negative perceptions of Gay Women as lotharios who don't respect relationships or hold a grudge when  their partner saved their life by amputating a necrotizing leg.

Besides Hot Visiting Doc Lauren seems to be a bit stalkerish telling Arizona that she’s not going to give up or whatever.

More importantly, this will be Callie’s 2nd failed marriage, so she should be wondering why she chooses such lousy people and why do these seemingly brilliant individuals always behave as if they do not have a clue about human nature at times when it’s most important to have a clue? Also when you cheat on your partner you will inevitably get exposed.

Damn why do we have to wait until October or November for more? I may lose interest by then, or worse forget. Remember I had a very serious head injury

a few weeks ago.

Good To Be Back
